May we introduce ourselves?

Our village is very busy especially in the run-up to the summer - getting ready for the Tidy Town competition and all our visitors. And once the summer is over, and the pace is slowing down, we get ready for staging the first outdoor Christmas Market in Ireland. That involves a lot of work, all year round. We sincerely want to thank everybody in the community for their hard work and committment!

The Ballyvaughan Community Development Group is a Limited Company concerned, in particular, with the general economic, environmental and social elements that are essential to the community and the overall well-being of a growing village in the focus of Irish tourism.

There are three branches to the group: the Executive, the Trustees, and the Sub-Committees. The Executive Committee consists of the six officers:
Chairperson: Cathleen Connole, assisted by Conor Fahy
Secretary: George Keegan, assisted by Cecelia Agnew
Treasurer: Gerry Woods, assisted by Jackie Fahy

The Limited Company has six trustees: Cathleen Connole, Mary Hawkes, Patsy Mullins, Brendan O’ Donoghue, Gerry O'Sullivan and Emma Stewart-Liberty.

Assisting the main committee is a large body of hard working volunteers involved in the successful endeavours of various sub-committees. Their commitment and achievements are evident in the developments and hands-on work that enhance our village and our quality of life. The sub-committees include the following groups:

- Archaeological and Historical
- Christmas Maarket
- Job initiative Scheme
- Burren in Bloom
- Planning Matters
- Slipway Development
- Social Events and Entertainment
- Tidy Towns
- Walkways

The community lottery, originally an initiative of the Development Group almost ten years ago, has proved hugely successful. in helping to fund the Development Committee, Field Committee and GAA club.

We hold our meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 9pm. in St. John's Hall.
ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND.
